Classic Car Overview

While there have been some incredible Corvettes, this specific Corvette can often lay claim to not just being the best looking car in America, but also has a large support group that considers it the best looking car of all time. There are not a lot of cars that can be looked at and marveled from every single angle, but that's what this split window coupe is...ART. pure art. The "Stingray" was named aptly and it was designed to look like it's predecessor. All of the features were created with a dash of the stingray in mind. Features like the vents and front fenders were meant to remind someone of the stingray tail. It's the spine of the stingray that lead to the split windows. The designers considered it so important to the overall look of the car that they pushed very hard for its inclusion and the Chevrolet board gave way. However, as soon as it was released the split window design was causing some havoc. The split window decreased sight-lines but the design cost more. While oh-so-pretty, it was double the labour and parts in that area to install two windows instead of one. Therefore the split window design was retired after only a single glorious year. The 1963 Corvette coupe is revered throughout the collector car world for its rarity, its performance and above all, its true work of art styling. Produced in what quickly became known as the "split window", the 1963 coupe with its unique divided back window would not come back for the next model year. This fabulous split window comes with a matching numbers 327 V8 engine and manual four speed transmission. It also has air conditioning which blows cold and the iconic "knock off" styled wheels. This is a car which runs out very well and handles properly. The engine is smooth and the steering and brakes delight. An excellent chance to own one of the most coveted sports cars in the world. A car that will truly appreciate in value. Dealer certified, and ready to drive.
