1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Convertible
Car for sale in Port Orange, Florida 32128
From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.
The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.
Classic Car Overview
1963 Corvair Monza 900 Turbo Charged Spyder Convertible. The transmission is a manual 4 speed. The color is Sunset Orange. This is a California rot/rust free car in very nice condition. The odometer shows 19,835 miles but I can’t verify it’s accuracy although by the condition of the car this could be right. This car runs and drives nicely for its age. The Monza 900 Turbo boasts “150” horsepower. This is a very rare and sought after model for the Corvair. The paint is very nice, the top and window is in great condition with little noticeable wear. The interior is also in very good condition with like new seats with spiders embroidered on them, very classy looking. Door panels are awesome and all window glass is clear and without scratches. The chrome wheels are very nice and the tires have deep tread on them. With a little TLC this car can be driven as is or a great candidate for a full restoration, your choice. The owner has many new parts installed but also there are boxes of brand new parts that are included in the sale. Along with a brand new battery there are the following parts included; complete electronic distributor (housing, cap, rotor, and electronic module set) Delco plug wire set, two sets of spark plugs, Delco R44F, Denso iridium 1WF20 5378, and a chrome high output coil, Hastings premium fuel and air filters, Hygrade carburetor rebuild kit with instructions, Wagner high and low beam head lights to replace the smoke ones on the car. Also include in the sale are the following; two Corvair shop manuals, a 1963 Corvair assembly manual, two Clark’s parts catalogs, a 1963 Corvair owners guide, and finally a power train removal and installation manual. These parts with the repair manuals are value at almost $1,500. The car has a clear California title with a bill of sale to the present owner. Family illness necessitates the vehicles sale. All extra parts and manuals are featured in the photos. Thanks for looking!
