As the VIN number indicates this car was built in Flint, MI as a 1963 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door sedan with a 6-cylinder engine. As the cowl tag indicates this car was originally born with a black exterior and an aqua interior. From the information gathered this car was owned by well-known engine builder Jack Gibb who specializes in 409 V8 engines. He sold the car to a high end collector who decided to do a complete no expense spared rotisserie nut and bolt restoration. The vision of the build was to create the ultimate nostalgic-restomod. The mission was accomplished with this one-of-a-kind street machine. Once the car was completed in spent some time in his collection. He eventually sold the car to a close friend who kept it in his collection. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car from his friend in January 2021.

The exterior of this car is absolutely stunning to say the least. This body style is very unique especially when compared to the commonly seen Tri-Five models. The body of this car is laser straight with excellent panel gaps throughout. The hood, doors and trunk close so nicely. The car was refinished in its original color of black which dresses it well. The paint is show quality throughout and was recently detailed by MS CLASSIC CARS to a brilliant shine. All of the glass was replaced during the restoration with new laminated safety glass which is crystal clear. Everything on the exterior is was restored or replaced such as the glass trim, window vents, wipers, hood trim, hood emblem, front grille, dual H4 headlights, front bumper, front lower ribbed panel, front fender emblems, dual mirrors, door handles, side moldings, rear quarter emblems, trunk emblem, trunk trim, taillights, rear bumper and rear lower ribbed panel. The car has a killer stance on 15” black steel wheels that fit the nostalgic appearance. The front wheels have the Baer brake billet hub in the center and the rear wheels have a yellow hub that reads Mark Williams Hi-Torque axles. The wheels are wrapped with Moroso Drag Special 7.60 – 15 tires on the front and Mickey Thompson Radial Dragster 10.00-15 tires on the rear. This car is one mean looking street machine!

The interior of this car is also absolutely stunning to say the least. It’s been completely restored to a very high level of quality. It’s very spacious and comfortable especially with the front bench seat. During the restoration the original Aqua color was changed to red which complements the black exterior perfectly. The seat pattern also adds the touch of 60’s design. Everything in the interior was restored or replaced such as the red headliner, dome light, coat hooks, red sun visors, chrome rear view mirror, red painted dash, crystal clear gauges including a built in RPM gauge, dash hardware, steering wheel, pedals, door striker, door sills, front red door panels with arm rests, door handles, window cranks, vent cranks, rear red door panels with arm rests, ash trays, window cranks, red bench seats with custom upholstery, red carpeting and rear red package tray. The interior has some great upgrades that were discreetly added such as under mounted Auto Gage gauges, Autometer shift light with MSD RPM activated switch, red Ididit tilt steering column, Vintage Air conditioning and heating system with electric levers, Hurst chrome shifter with white shift knob and line lock, Retro-Sound Motor 3 stereo system with modern features, kicker panel speakers and rear tray speaker. It even has the electric exhaust cut out switch hidden on dash. Everything in this interior is in working order such as the dome lights, under dash lights, headlights, turn signals, horn, gauges, air conditioning, heating system and sound system.

The highly detailed gloss black engine compartment is like a jewelry case with its gorgeous accessories. The backside of the hood, firewall, inner fenders and radiator support was painted high gloss black. The hood hinges and hood latch assembly was ceramic coated for durability and appearance. The engine bay has many upgrades such as the new concealed wiring, MSD ignition system, Wilwood master brake cylinder, braided hoses, stainless lines and Optima Red Top battery. The car is powered by a Jack Gibb built 409 Dual Quad V8that was stroked to a 480 V8 with an estimated 575HP. Jack Gibb is the authority with 409 V8 engine rebuilding. The engine has a 422 casting number and 690 cylinder head casting number. Some of the engine internal upgrades include Comp Cams solid roller custom grind cam with .650 lift, Isky valve springs, roller rockers with guide plates, Ross pistons and 6.135 connecting rods. The engine has been outfitted with many custom parts such as a polished Edelbrock intake with K&N breather, polished Edelbrock dual 800cfm carburetors, Billet Specialties Tru-Trac serpentine system, Chevrolet orange milled valve covers, polished milled air cleaner and aluminum oil pan. The engine is cooled by a Be Cool polished aluminum radiator with dual Spal polished fans and polished aluminum overfill canisters.
