Classic Car Overview

This beautiful Shelby is a tribute to CSX2001, the first production Shelby Cobra built and among the initial 75 delivered in 1962. CSX2001 was raced at the 1964 Le Mans 24 Hours; after its competition debut, that car was modified with a 289 cubic-inch engine and updated to full FIA standards by Ford Racing in France. The roadster was then campaigned in Europe and racked up victories across the continent. CSX2001 was purchased by Bruce Meyer in 20026 and returned to the United States. It is celebrated at events worldwide, from the Goodwood in the UK to the Le Mans Classic in France, Pebble Beach Concours in Monterey and the Petersen Musuem in Los Angeles. This Cobra 289 FIA (CSX7091) was constructed as a tribute to CSX2001 as it appears today in Bruce Meyers collection. From the original John Tojeiro designed 3 tubular rail ladder with transverse-leaf springs to the tasteful fender flares, the car is true to the design of CSX2001. The cockpit of CSX7091 is even outfitted with a rollbar, competition style seatbelts and stunning wooden steering wheel. Other notable features include: -Aluminum constructed body -Black paint with white roundels -Hood scoop -15 aluminum wheels with spinners The car is sold as a roller, ready for installation of a Ford drivetrain.
