Classic Car Overview
1962 Lotus Seven-Replica $38,995
One-of-a-kind modern American replica of the iconic 1962 Lotus Super Seven, built by Brunton Auto out of Tampa, FL. This Florida certified kit car is ready for a cruise downtown or prepared to set lap records at your local road racing/autocross event.
With a 350hp LS1 out of a '02 Z06 Corvette, weighing only 1,760lbs (wet), mated to a 6-speed T56 transmission and Chevrolet limited slip differential, this is a straight-up rocket of a car. It will out-accelerate, corner harder, and stop shorter than any other street car you'll find. If you think driving a Mustang, Camaro, Corvette, or even a Porsche, Ferrari, or McLaren is exciting, you need to experience what this open cockpit, "one with the pavement" machine is capable of delivering. The rush of wind in your face, the roaring sound of a throaty V8, the realization that you can easily put your hand on the ground from the seating position, and the direct-connection driver inputs to steering, manual transmission, brakes, with zero driving aids creates an experience unlike any other.
This modernized take on the '62 racing classic has new amenities to make the driving experience that much better. A fully adjustable pushrod style suspension engages coilover race shocks at all 4 corners that allow you to customize the ride height, camber, toe, rocker ratio, damping, and spring preload. The updated suspension geometry also minimizes bump-steer, making this an easier and safer car to drive than its '62 variant.
Brand new Nitto NT01 DOT approved tires provide incredible grip to the pavement as you cruise around town or hit the race track (although, race slicks can take this machine to a whole other level). Wilwood disc brakes and power-assisted master cylinder create ample stopping power that will leave your neck muscles sore.
The cockpit is a no-nonsense environment with aluminum racing bucket seats and 5 point harnesses. The driver seat is adjustable forward/aft to accommodate drivers between 5'7" and 6'2" in height. The passenger seat is fixed and will seat anyone up to 6'3" in height. A genuine carbon fiber dashboard houses LED illuminated gauges for speed, RPM, fuel level, battery voltage, oil pressure, and engine coolant temp. A push button start switch is accompanied by 5 mechanical switches that control ignition, radiator fan, low oil pressure alarm, lights, and turn signals.
HID headlights and LED turn signals and brake lights provide superior visibility and styling. The front turn signals are especially neat, as they are incorporated into the front fenders.
As I conclude this description, I'd like to touch on a few points that transparently clarify aspects of this car that are different in fit/finish/operation from a Rolls Royce. This is a kit car and street legal race machine. It doesn't have air conditioning or a radio - shoot, it doesn't even have doors or a roof (if it rains, you'll get wet). The rear fender area develops small pits in the paint where the front tire slings road debris backward. The right rear corner panel also has a minor cosmetic paint flaw where the car shifted inside a trailer one time and began rubbing on the panels of the interior of the trailer. These paint defects could be easily repainted by a professional, if you so desire. But again, this car is meant to be driven, not meticulously analyzed with a magnifying glass. Furthermore, this was a kit car and it has some elements of DIY to it. I don't feel this should detour an interested person, but I wanted to be as transparent as possible nonetheless.
I'm selling this car because I no longer have the ability to use it as much as I'd like, and I'd rather it be put to good use over sitting stagnant in my garage. I'm available for any questions you may have and to setup a (quite fun) test drive for serious buyers. Cheers!
