Classic Car Overview

PRICE REDUCED!! This is a wonderful example of a 1962 Jaguar XKE Series 1 OTS Roadster that benefitted from three long term owners and is in gorgeous condition today. This Jaguar has been well cared for and loved its entire life. While never receiving a complete restoration, this has been restored as needed over the decades. With its matching numbers 3.8-liter inline engine, 4-speed transmission and vibrant color combination, this E-Type is perfect for regional shows and tours. This Jaguar was built by the factory on July 13, 1962, and dispatched to the New York distributor on the 8th of August 1962. According to her owner, this Jaguar remained with its first owner for 23 years. She was acquired by her second owner, Dell Lichtenburg in Boseman, MT, by about 1985. Mr. Lichtenburg enjoyed her for six years. During that time, he replaced her black Haartz cloth convertible top. Our client, Marvin Brown from Billings, MT purchased her from Mr. Lichtenburg in 1992. Mr. Brown added about 50 miles over the first 10 years of ownership and then decided to store her on blocks to better preserve its condition. He was advised that placing her on blocks would be ideal to preserve the suspension, so he had her carefully professionally decommissioned for storage. For the next 20 years, this Jaguar remained on blocks in his air conditioned garage. In 2022, Mr. Brown had her fully professionally recommissioned and detailed, and today she runs and drives very well and looks fantastic. She is accompanied by a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, which confirms her to be an original Carmen Red and numbers matching example. The exterior of this Jaguar is stunning. The Carmen Red livery has excellent shine and luster and is in beautiful condition today. The Carmen Red paint is its original and correct factory color. The chrome and stainless-steel trim are also in beautiful condition. Her black Haartz cloth convertible top is in excellent condition. The Black canvas convertible top boot accompanies her. The chrome plated knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in Riken Radial tires of appropriate size and look. The wheels and tires are in beautiful condition. Overall, the exterior is in excellent show condition. The interior is complete in Black Leather and is complimented by Black wool carpeting. The leather is soft and supple and the interior shows very well overall. There is only slight wear showing on the drivers side bolster and piping. The black dashboard also shows well. The telescopic steering features its teak steering wheel that is in beautiful condition. Overall, the interior is very nice and perfect for touring or regional shows. This Jaguar comes with its original numbers matching 3.8 liter inline 6-cylinder engine with a trio of Weber carburetors. The 255hp is transmitted through its 4-speed manual transmission with independent rear suspension, creating top speeds of nearly 150 mph. The engine compartment is detailed and shows fairly well. The chassis and
