Classic Car Overview

1962 Chevrolet Corvette For Sale This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette represents the final year of the first-generation C1, but this example has been taken well beyond a standard stock restoration. Built by Ernie Hoffman of Hoffman Corvettes and showing 3,880 miles since completion, it was assembled as a thoughtfully updated restomod that keeps the clean, unmistakable early Corvette shape while incorporating a long list of modernized mechanical and comfort upgrades.Power comes from an LS3 480 V8 backed by a Tremec TKO manual transmission with clutch, bellhousing, and offset shifter. The build sheet also notes a Holley mid-mount front drive system, sheet metal intake, Corvette valve covers, low-profile oil pan, LS3 starter, adapter plates, sensors for the engine and transmission, and a Terminator X Max management system. Supporting components include a complete stainless steel undercar exhaust, upgraded radiator and fan combo, radiator hoses, coolant temp sensor, motor and transmission mounts, driveshaft and U-joints, plus a complete fuel system with tank, pump, and sending unit. The chassis and overall build appear to have been approached with the same level of detail. This Corvette was built using a complete roller chassis and also received floor section work during the process. Additional updates listed include Dakota Digital gauges, LED lighting, a complete vehicle wiring harness, wheels and tires, a retrofit OEM-style steering column, updated steering wheel, gas pedal and mount, painted engine bay, smoothed firewall, and prep and lining work to the underside of the car. The result is a C1 that was clearly built with drivability, serviceability, and clean presentation in mind.Inside, this Corvette benefits from a number of upgrades aimed at making the car more usable without losing its vintage character. Features listed on the build include AOK seats, kick panels, carpet kit, Bluetooth radio, and a Vintage Air system with matching controls. Up top, it wears a black Stayfast convertible top, and the car also received paint correction and ceramic coating as part of the finishing process. This is the kind of 1962 Corvette that fits well for someone who loves the look and significance of the last C1 but wants a car that feels more sorted and more comfortable to actually use. It carries the visual identity of an early Corvette, but the drivetrain, chassis, wiring, cooling, and interior upgrades point to a build intended for real road use rather than static display. Adding to the story, the owners goal is to sell the car and donate the proceeds to an Ohio school that needs funding to build a new wing for disabled children.See the videos tab above this description box for a cold start and walk around. Please call ahead to inquire about the cars availability and location.
