Classic Car Overview
Design and build process began June 2023 and ended September 2023, photographs were taken January 2024. Drivetrain build and swap, as well as related mechanical work was handled over an unknown length of time at or around 2010 through previous owner - I have a large booklet of receipts and shop information spanning approximately 15 years.
Code name for build was "Workmans Treasure"; some design work included at end of image gallery. The code name describes a vehicle that is beautiful and worth having while retaining its dependable and functional capabilities. Vehicle was built and executed to follow design direction set within the code name: A truck built to retain its ability to do bed related truck things; remain time tested and easy/simple to maintain and acquire by using mostly factory components (no trick stuff that is difficult to find and repair when needed); keep a moderately vintage appearance while adding smoothness throughout but with added sharpness to key design lines; a focus on chrome, stainless, and white details often found in classic vehicles; standard modern restomod treatment with panel gaps, tucked bumpers, panel alignment, etc.; consistent red on red modified vintage color keyway throughout; paint and body like glass/treasure; protective methods for high wear areas such as wood bed floor, bed sides, engine bay and seat bottom; selective mix of old and new and function and form - workmans treasure.
Approximately 60k miles since mechanical work was carried out, 108k on chassis. Rebuilt 355ci sbc V8 with performance top end kit and mild lopey cam and accessory drive kit, headers, dual exhaust, 3spd auto with external tranny cooler, HEI distributor, AC/Heat, power steering with stainless tilt column, power disc brakes, power windows, lowering springs with lowing spindles and blocks, brass radiator with fail-safe thermostat, vintage look bluetooth radio with speakers, fuel tank with pop-up gas cap, new glass and weatherstripping, new bushings/fluids/grease/rubber components, new complete chassis harness with original style lighting and original instrumentation, etc..
To sum up the build, mechanically this is a 1962 Chevrolet with tried and true new and/or rebuilt components, aesthetically this is properly designed and built restored/modified work of art. Take it to the shows, daily drive it, help your friends move or load it with trees, it is well suited and your choice.
