If you're a fan of vintage Japanese cars, be sure to check out Nissan's online heritage site. There are tons of vintage Nissan pics and specs going all the way back to the 1920s. Each featured car or truck has relevant specs and a little "detail" tab that gives some background on that specific car.
The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.
Classic Car Overview
One of a kind Austin-Healey with only 21,000 original miles!
A true "Survivor" car, this time capsule Austin-Healey 3000 MKII BT7 is a real beauty. It has a 3.0 liter in-line six engine with the highly sought after SU tri-carb set up. It's a one year only model with this configuration. The "BT" means it has two extra seats in back, as opposed to a two-seat roadster, although the seats are small and best suited for small children, its also great for storage of luggage, etc. Center shift 4-speed gear box with electric overdrive (overdrive is fully functioning). The car has just had (spring '20) a full checkup and repair for full road worthiness, all systems checked, repaired or replaced (PDF available upon request). The interior has new insulation installed for sound deadening and heat reduction. New tires and new 15x5 spoke chrome wire wheels really makes this black beauty shine.
My uncle purchased the car from Hix Green Buick, Atlanta, GA in August of 1962. The car was driven regularly up until the late 1970's, even so there are only 21,080 original miles on this car. My uncle had planned to do a full "Concours" resto on it, but as we all know, life sometimes gets in the way of these things. Although never completed he did a number of minor repairs like a rebuild of the engine updating gaskets, hoses, etc. The car was back in great working condition minus the completed interior. It was left like this in his basement for a number of years and taken out rarely to "blow the cobwebs out." He really got into hotrods and his attention went in that direction until his passing in 2005.
My father then inherited the Healey and the car was moved to his garage in 2006. He drove the car mainly around the block to keep the gas flowing and the battery charged up. The fuel pump went out and it wasn't driven for some time. Unfortunately his health was becoming an issue and he wasn't able to do much with the car. It sat until his passing in January 2020 and the car came into my possession, at that time we decided to get the car back in good running condition and off it went to Speedwell Motors, Watkinsville, GA for it's second life. The guys that worked on the car were amazed at the overall condition of the car, body panels straight, frame solid with no rust and as they said the first day, "it's a time capsule." I'm going to say it's a one owner car in the sense that it has been in my immediate family for 58 years.
