Introduced at the 1954 New York International Motorsport Show alongside the 300SL, the 190SL was inspired by U.S. Mercedes Benz importer Max Hoffman. Featuring a lightweight aluminum hood, doors, rear decklid, the 1960 SL was styled by Walter Hacker and his design team, working with Mercedes-Benz Chief Designer Karl Wilfert!
