The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.
Classic Car Overview
Redline Restorations is proud to offer this beautiful, 1961 Maserati 3500 GT. This elegant 2+2 Grand Tourer was a turning point in Maserati’s production history. At this time, Maserati was looking for a way to fund their racing program. They began experimenting with an elegant, versatile road car, that still retained the performance aspects of a Maserati.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels from their famous 3.5L, twin plug, DOHC, inline-6 cylinder, derived from the Maserati 350S race car. The engine is capable of roughly 232 HP and is mated to a factory 5-speed ZF gearbox. This example also features 4-wheel disc brakes, and a rare Borrani wire wheel option.
This 3500GT was discovered in the basement of the original owners home in Italy. It had been immaculately stored, preserved, and enjoyed by the family. All of the aluminum sheet metal is original, and the owner opted to have it cosmetically restored in Bergamo, Italy. The body was brought to bare metal and repainted in the current dark blue shade. The car was then imported into the U.S. in 2013, at this time the motor was fully rebuilt by a renowned Maserati technician.
This 3500GT still retains the original red leather interior from the factory. The scent and texture of the upholstery are irreplaceable, and make for an unmistakable driving experience. The seat foam, carpeting, and headliner were recently replaced. This elegant Maserati is turn key and ready for endless long drives with its new owner.
