VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. Classic Car Overview

We are pleased to present this 1961 Jaguar Mark IX. This four-door luxury saloon car was popular among British Commonwealth countries to use as motorcade cars for foreign dignitaries and by the Queen herself as a state car. This piece of British history has its original 3.8L Straight 6 cylinder power plant connected to the original Borg Warner 3 speed automatic transmission. The Mark IX was the first production Jaguar to offer four-wheel servo-assisted Dunlop disc brakes and recirculating ball power steering. The automatic transmission versions had the electromagnetic valve that maintained brake pressure at rest when the brake pedal was released to prevent the Jaguar from rolling back on hills. Jaguar called this feature Anti-Creep. The sunroof AKA the Sunshine Roof was standard and the interior was luxurious, with extensive use of leather, burled walnut. The original burgundy leather seats are in great shape considering its 50 plus years old. There are a few minor wrinkles in the headliner. The carpet is in good shape with some wear around the edges but no rips or tears. The door panels look great and the burled walnut dash looks good. In the last three years the fuel system, brake system and transmission have all been rebuilt or replaced and the engine completely serviced (all documented). The exterior was repainted several years ago and is of drivers quality with some minor cracking and blemishes. We can arrange shipping to your location.
