Classic Car Overview
This 1961 Ford F100 is one of those vehicles where the price is all out of whack with the quality and extent of the work performed. With seamless custom touches throughout, plus big block power, it's one heck of an impressive truck with moves like a muscle car. You definitely couldn't build this truck at this price.
Let's start with the paint, since that's the first thing everyone notices. The two-tone treatment really enhances the dramatic lines of the old Ford pickup, following the gently sloping character line along the flanks. Sunburst Orange Metallic over Charcoal Gray Metallic paint, all separated by a bright yellow pinstripe give it a high-tech look that contrasts wonderfully with the vintage sheetmetal, giving the upright Ford a very sleek look. It's been driven a bit, but when you show up in this machine, folks will definitely notice and ask you about it. The entire body was taken down to bare metal and the finish was built from there, and the finish is worthy of a vehicle costing twice as much as this one does. A 1990 F150 bed was very cleverly welded into the original rear quarters, preserving the factory look but giving the cargo area a new lease on life. There's a bit of bright trim left, but much of it was painted to match the body or shaved, giving it a monochromatic look, and with a custom rear roll pan, it looks downright sleek from the rear.
Dig how the two-tone paint extends into the door jambs and across the inner door panels, the sure sign of a craftsman at work. The factory dash remains in place, painted to match the body and fitted with a billet aluminum gauge panel full of VDO analog gauges and framed by a LaCarrera steering wheel on a tilt column.
Sorry Ford fans, but the big block under the hood is a Chevy 454 taken from an RV, so its thick walls make it extremely durable for use in the slick pickup. Fed by a Holley carb on a chrome Edelbrock intake and an off-road cam that sounds wicked, this nicely finished engine moves the truck with definite authority. Dressed in body-colored valve covers and a few choice chrome pieces, you won't hesitate to show this one off. Underneath, upgrades include power disc brakes and rack-and-pinion steering, a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission with an 1800 RPM stall converter, and a TCI Mustang II independent front suspension. A Ford 9-inch rear could very well be this truck's original piece and with 2.72 gears inside.
A gorgeous truck that's fully sorted and ready to haul, well, just about anything. If you like how it looks, you're gonna love how it drives. Call today!
