1961 Chevrolet Corvette

Representing the second to the last year of the C1 the 1961 Corvette is special for a few reasons. That year marked the last for the 283 V8 in a Corvette, a peppy performer that was known for punching well above its weight. It also marked the last year of the available contrasting bodyside coves which were outlined in chrome and painted Silver or White to contrast with the cars main body color.



Here we have a beautiful 1961 Corvette that boasts a meticulous and very fresh (less than 500 miles since) frame-off restoration. The eye-catching color scheme of Fawn Beige with White coves is hard to beat, and the paint as well as the various chrome and stainless steel components shine brilliantly. The 6,500 rpm redline on the tach indicates that this Corvette packs an optional, high-horsepower version of the 283 V8.



Raise the hood and youll see that potent, numbers-matching 283, specifically the dual-quad version that also packs high compression heads and a solid-lifter cam. That feisty small block is paired up with a smooth-shifting, numbers-matching 4-speed manual gearbox that sends the power to the pavement via the numbers-matching 3.70-geared Positraction rear end.



With everything being rebuilt/restored as needed, including the suspension and brakes, this classic Corvette runs and drives as good as it looks and it sounds awesome in the process.
