1961 Chevrolet Corvette
Car for sale by West Coast Corvettes in Anaheim, California 92806
The 1967 Corvette is considered the most-loved Corvette ever produced. The combination of classic C2 styling, along with an incredible array of powertrain and comfort options, makes it one of the most desirable Corvettes ever. Not bad for a car that was never supposed to be made!
The ZR-1's production run from 1990-95 was one of the most exciting times for Corvette enthusiasts in recent memory. In the mid-1980s, rumors of a "King of the Hill" Corvette began to leak out of Detroit and into America's speed shops and dealerships.

Every car has a story. Sometimes the story is known, sometimes the story is revealed through discovery and restoration, and sometimes the story remains undisclosed. This particular 1961 has a great story. The first registered owner of this C1 was friends with the owner of the Chevrolet dealership. They worked out an agreement where the dealership would order the car equipped exactly as the customer wanted, but the dealership would order it as a demo, have the owner of the dealerships wife drive it for the required time, then sell it to the buyer as a used demo model, at a good cost savings for the buyer.
We have the original dealerships sales contract and the car is listed as a demo on the Bill of Sale. The original owners manual is also with the car. The car stayed with the original owner until he gave it to his son. The son had a complete frame off restoration completed by Burtons Classics of Stanton CA in 2007. It has been maintained as a show quality vehicle since that time and presents very nicely.
This solid axle Corvette is equipped with its original, numbers matching 283/230HP engine, mated to a a powerglide auomatic transmission. It has power windows, a tan soft top, wide whitewall radial tires, wonder bar radio, and a heater/defroster.
Power steering and a smaller diameter steering wheel have been added to the car. The original steering wheel does come with the car.
With the automatic transmission and power steering this is a great driving 61. Truly one of the best driving 1961s that we have had the pleasure to drive. All of the mechanical systems are in good working order.
This car will satisfy the collector who recoginizes and appreciates a car of the highest quality.
