Classic Car Overview
Good runner. 3 speed manual column shifter. Bought truck in Calf 8+ years ago. Cleaned underside, much grease and dirt. Steering box leaked bad, replaced with new box. Might reason why no rot bottom of cab. Solid floor, cab and bed. Passenger door window goes up and down, but not as easily as driver door window. Windshield not as seated as should be. Haven't addressed because think if someone buys would most likely remove to repaint. Seal area has no rust. Have another new seal and possibly will reinstall if can get couple friends to help. Windshield not loose, ok to drive, have driven 1200 miles since installing. Rear window has new seal and door window channels new. New door seals, but door lines are nor perfect match to body lines, mostly at bottom. Doors open and close good. All lights work but turn signals do not auto cancel, Installed headlight relays so switch and dimmer don't carry head lamp current. Horn button works, and all gauges. New speedometer and cable. Reads about 10 MPH below actual. Installed 3 gauge package below dash, vacuum, tach and voltmeter. While cleaning up used extend rust on all surface rust underneath and frame. Has remanufactured S & J 283 engine with about 1200 miles. Starts quick and runs strong. Stops good. Original 2 barrel carb. Installed 1 wire alternator, Aluminum radiator, front disc brakes, new manual steering box, AC / heater. Installed 3.35 rear end gears for hiway driving. Opened tranny, gears in great shape, no chipped teeth. Replaced right bed side, had lots of puddy falling off. Not much puddy on rest of body. Paint close match but not perfect. Used same paint for touch up, can be seen in pictures. Has some rust through spots that I covered up using fiberglass. At front of roof passenger side, and right front fender at bottom near door. Fender could be replaced apx. $200.00 part. Rust at bottom of passenger door. Also right rear cab corner needs some work. Has puddy for now. Think had accident that corner and bed side years ago. Few small rust spots on side of hood and door panels that have been covered with body puddy, Be nice to wield in metal instead. Replaced wood for bed floor, couple boards starting to curl at front of bed, still very solid and should last long time if kept out of weather. Has tires that are a little to large that came with truck. Good tread and hold air so never changed. 6 lug wheels. If wanted can have original generator, radiator, heater box with core, front drums with brake plates and bearings, 3.90 rear end gears, old steering box. Other misc. parts ie. spare belts, lens, ect. Comes with shop manuals.
Truck could use quality body work and paint. But gets plenty of looks when out of driveway.
