Classic Car Overview
The exterior of this car is simply stunning with its stylish factory design and beautiful color combination. The exterior condition is reflective of a #1 condition concours vehicle. During the restoration process the body was stripped to bare metal. It retains all the original sheet metal with exception to the lower sections of the front fenders, rocker panels and quarters which were repaired. The body is laser straight with excellent gap lines throughout. The hood, doors and trunk operate very nicely. The body was refinished in its original color of Cotswold Blue which dresses it well. The lower section of the body was refinished in a lighter shade of blue to highlight the bodylines. It's equipped with a manually operated sunroof that's operational. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced new such as all of the glass, stainless trim, wiper arms and blades, antenna, fender-mounted mirrors, hood trim, light bezels, Lucas headlights and driving lights, front grill, front bumper, upper and lower body moldings, door handles, license plate trim, Lucas taillights, rear bumper and emblems. It's equipped with two gas fillers on both rear quarters so it can be fueled from either side. The car rolls on 16 painted steel wheels that are decorated with chrome trim rings and center caps with Jaguar logo. The wheels are mounted to Firestone Deluxe Champion 6.50 -16 whitewall tires.
The interior of this car is very luxurious with great attention to detail throughout. It was refinished in its original color of Red which contrasts very nicely with the exterior shade of Blue. During the restoration process the interior was removed and completely gone through including the wiring. The four-spoke black steering wheel fronts a walnut veneer dashboard with centrally mounted Smiths instrumentation. It's equipped with a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock as well as a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for amperage, coolant temperature, oil pressure and fuel level. The dashboard has gloveboxes on both sides for the driver and passenger. The walnut wood trims the pillars, headliner, sun visors, sunroof and tops of door panels. The door panels and seating surfaces were reupholstered in red genuine leather which is soft. The front bench seat has a center folding armrest. The rear seating area has walnut wood trim, picnic trays and center storage compartment. The rear passenger side is decorated with a vase and currently has a rose in it. The flooring was covered with plush red carpeting throughout. It's been outfitted with matching molded carpeted floor mats throughout. The spacious trunk compartment was refinished with new tan material throughout. It's equipped with a matching full spare wheel, jack and tools.
The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. During the restoration process everything was removed from the engine bay including the engine itself. The firewall, inner fenders and radiator support were stripped, prepped and repainted. Everything in the engine bay was restored or replaced. The car is powered by the original matching number 3.8L DOHC Inline 6-clyinder engine with two SU carburetors. The engine was factory rated at 220 horsepower and 237 lb-ft of torque. The engine was rebuilt previously by the third owner and runs excellent. The engine breathes through factory manifolds and a stainless steel exhaust system. The engine is coupled to a 3-speed Borg Warner automatic transmission which was also rebuilt by the third owner. Two new batteries were installed in November of 2025.
The undercarriage is very clean throughout. The underneath was undercoated for durability. Everything was gone through new during the restoration process such as the power steering system, fuel system, suspension system and braking system. The suspension consists of a torsion bar independent front suspension and leaf-spring rear live axle. The braking system consists of four-wheel disc brakes with a servo-assist system. It's also equipped with Hill Holder which is a feature on automatic models that prevented the car from rolling backward on an incline.
