Classic Car Overview
Better than a barn find! A true Survivor '60. Solid, stock car that's been preserved--it's got it everywhere that counts. If this ad is up, the car is for sale.
1960 Ford Thunderbird Coupe, I bought it about three years ago from a one-owner family. The car was ordered from the factory by family friend Bill Running, an auto shop teacher in Pasadena. California car from 1960-1988, it has spent its entire life garaged. Have all documents including order sheet, bill of sale, and signed letter to owner from Ford VP and Gen Mgr J. O. Wright dated Sept 26, 1960 . . . please take a close look at history and ephemera with this car.
It was ordered with great factory options. 352 V8, automatic, PS, PW, PB (Kelsey-Hayes), A/C, rare power driver seat. Just under 98,000 original miles-HAS NOT ROLLED OVER. Its original Palm Springs Rose paint has faded slightly to a pearly white. Its black and white vinyl seats are also original, in excellent condition, and have been restuffed. Original trunk liner in very good condition. (How often do you see that?!) Original factory fiberboard sandwiched in trunk lid is completely intact just like it came from the factory! Chrome dress up package on engine-air cleaner and headers.
Lots of records and receipts from the whole history of the car. Compression test shows all cylinders good. Has Draw-Tite hitch added back when car was new.
Newer Coker white wall radials. New white headliner. New shocks, new stainless steel exhaust, new water pump, thermostat, heater core. New oil pump and new seals at bell housing and oil pan. New antenna. New plugs, wires, distributor. Also, back in 2016, brakes, wheel cylinders, and master cylinder were redone, generator, voltage regulator, fuel lines, pump, sender, seals, etc. Belts, electric ignition, battery and cables, more...
A spare OEM dashpad was purchased and stored back when the car was new. It recently replaced the old dashpad which had cracked. Driver's side exhaust header could use a new gasket. Rear window motor doesn't roll down. Original clock is not working. A/C needs recharge. Windshield washer bag needs hoses to reconnect to sprayers. Radio works but needs new wire to speaker (was disconnected when dash pad was replaced). Driven it from Portland to Timberline Lodge at 6,000 ft elevation, to Eugene, to eastern Washington--easily goes 85 mph nice and straight down the freeway, no problem.
Bonus items included with no-haggle purchase:
- Custom-made California Car Cover (Noah) with storage duffel.
- Extra carburetor, operable.
- Extra blower fan, operable.
- Period correct Washington, Oregon, and original California license plates. California plate has all tabs from 1960 thru 1987 plus 1988 still attached to registration card.

- Spare chrome radio cover plate.
