Classic Car Overview
1960 Chevrolet Impala The Impala was a full size car first introduced in 1958 by Chevrolet and would go on to be the manufacturers most popular flagship passenger vehicle. It was amongst the best selling American made cars produced. They had an interesting beginning to life as they were rapidly changing with multiple redesigns in just their first few years of existence. By the time this 1960 rolled out of the factory they were already on what would be considered the 2nd generation. The popular fins of the 50s era were slowly being phased out but are still present as time moved into the early 60s. The fins are more subtle but sort of fan out from the middle of the car. This makes for a very unique look and being that the cars would again be changed in 1961 means this design was only present for 1960 and the slightly different but similar 1959 version. This car is absolutely gorgeous and you are going to have a tough time finding a cleaner example. It has received a rotisserie restoration where not a single nut or bolt was left untouched. It beautifully marries stock features with modern upgrades to create a car that looks great, runs great, and can be driven anywhere. Not only that but all the work was professionally done and the car actually belongs to a local builder so you know it was done right. Prior to the restoration the car had approximately 64,000 miles on it. It was hibernating in a garage located in Fort Worth, Texas prior to being found and rescued. From there it was completely disassembled and taken all the way down to bare metal. It was completely rust free and super straight. The paint work was completed by Donnie Bright and if you have been in the car world for any period of time that name should sound familiar as he is one of the best in the business. All of the glass was replaced and remains in excellent condition. The bright work on the car is immaculate and it has a NOS complete grill and headlight doors. All of the other trim was fully refurbished and polished up to look like new. The lights, lenses, and bezels are all new as well and all of the electrical working properly thanks to the all new Painless wiring harness. Wheels can make or break a car and this one looks perfect with the 5 spoke Foose Legends under each corner. They are 18 inches up front, 20 inches in the rear and wrapped with Continental Extreme Contact tires. Recently, the optional front fender spears have been added. The car has its original 348 motor that has been fully rebuilt. Under the hood the car is extremely clean. The motor is fitted with an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, 4 barrel Edelbrock carb, blacked out valve covers, and a Spectre open top air cleaner. The car runs great and sounds great too through the all new complete custom exhaust. It originally had a power glide transmission but that has been upgraded with a smooth shifting Turbo 350 automatic. Power is then sent back to the original rear end that has been rebuilt with new axle bearings a
