Please call us to schedule an appointment. This 1959 Volkswagen Beetle has had no expense spared anywhere on the build! It is a true work of rolling art! It is finished in gorgeous black paint over a gray and blue wool and vinyl interior. The floor pans, rear apron, running boards, rear fenders, and glass were replaced under current ownership, and the body was repainted in black while the underbody of this VW Type 1 was painted two-tone black and satin blue. Details include a replacement sliding canvas sunroof, a custom rearview mirror, stainless-steel window trim, Marchal driving lights, polished headlight covers, custom circular vents on the fenders, a central oval exhaust tip, fluted yellow euro-headlights with H4 bulbs, and 1934 Ford-style fog light brackets with LED lights on the rear fenders. EMPI BRM 15 wheels with custom center caps are mounted with staggered-width Continental ContiProContact tires. Disc brakes are equipped at all four corners, and the system has been fitted with a replacement master cylinder reservoir, steel lines, and stainless-steel flex hoses. The suspension has been lowered with a 4 narrowed front beam and replacement gas shocks. A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a replacement 90-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplemental gauges under the dashboard. The interior was repainted in satin blue and the seats were reupholstered in gray and blue wool and vinyl. Details include matching door panels, a Vintage Speed shifter, a locking glovebox, billet aluminum knobs and window cranks, rubber floor mats with custom metal floor coverings, a pair of Alsta rally timers, and latch-and-link front lap belts. The replacement 1,776cc flat-four is said to have been overhauled and fitted with a 110 camshaft, a remote oil filter, PerTronix electronic ignition, 7mm solid copper ignition wires, and billet aluminum pulleys as well as Vintage Speed center pull linkage, 912 air filters, and oil catch. The engine breathes through twin 40mm Weber carburetors and a Sebring four-into-one exhaust system with an O2 sensor plug for tuning. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed Freeway Flyer short transaxle that is said to have been overhauled and painted satin blue with polished ribs. The transmission was fitted with a replacement nose cone seal, solid silicone axle boots, and neoprene mounts. This vehicle is available to view by appointment only.
