LAST REGISTRATION IN 1978Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very good, solid original TR3A Roadster for restoration. This car was recently purchased here in the California high desert where it lived for at least the past 43 years ! We believe this is a California car from new and was originally supplied as a factory overdrive car, hence the “L O” suffix on the car’s vin number.The bodywork on this car is fairly good. There’s the usual dings and scrapes throughout the years from storage. The car sustained some light damage in the RH front corner at one point. The paint it’s wearing is the ORIGINAL factory OEW paintwork, so it’s hiding nothing. The bodywork is completely hollow, void of any filler. The car is exceptionally solid throughout, needing only a LH outer rocker replacement and some very minor lower front fender repair, quite superb for a car of this age. The trunk is perfectly solid. The engine bay is very original and straight/clean.The car’s interior is pretty shot at this point, but remains show it’s original navy blue trim. PLEASE SEE WALK AROUND VIDEO. There’s not much missing as the car retains all of it’s important original cappings, seats, top frame.The car includes a complete 2.2 liter TR-4 “CT” prefixed engine that turns nicely by hand and a correct TR-3A transmission and radiator. There are some spare loose parts included that are pictured, including the original grille and front bumper assembly. The car’s underside looks excellent, with straight solid inner rockers and chassis frame – a great start to a nice restoration.This car includes it’s original VIN plate, body tag that has never been removed from the car.Overall, an excellent and solid candidate for restoration where one can almost completely avoid performing rust repair on this super solid California desert car.
