Classic Car Overview

HIGHLIGHTS:

RUNNING PROJECT - Complete Trim & V8 Rumble

Holley carburetor and aluminum radiator

BODY OVERVIEW:
Let's be clear: this Edsel isn't winning any beauty pageants today. The coral and white paint is a bit tired but there is still charm there in this 65-year-old survivor. The value is in the trim: ITS ALL THERE! For an Edsel, the chrome and emblems are the hardest parts to find, and this car is complete.
This Edsel Ranger carries all the unmistakable styling cues that make it one of the most distinctive cars of its era.

PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW:
This is a "10-footer" that looks great from across the gas station but will show its age up close. This is the perfect specimen for a Rat Rod build or a full strip-and- paint. The coral and white are true Americana colors of the 1950s and perfect for the person looking for a car with a bit of personality.

INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW:
The black and white interior is a perfect complement to the exterior. It appears largely original and shows normal wear expected for a classic of this age. There are some split seams, etc. which are shown in the photos. The seats, door panels, and dash all present, and much like the exterior trim, being present is half the battle. For a driver-quality vehicle, the interior is adequate.

MECHANICAL OVERVIEW:
Most lower priced Edsels are "barn finds" that don't turn over. This one runs, drives, and sounds mean. It has a 292 V8 that fires up easy, a Holley carb that's dialed in, and an aluminum radiator to keep it from overheating. The dual glasspacks give it a rowdy, aggressive sound that gets more attention than a fresh paint job ever could.

WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR:
Its an affordable way to own a truly unique piece of automotive history. Odds are very low that youll park next to another one of these! The styling is unmistakable, and the smooth-running V8 makes it a pleasure to drive.

WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR:
If youre looking for a fully restored showpiece, this Edsel isnt there. Its a great driver but not a show-quality restoration.

DOES IT NEED ANYTHING?
It's a running and driving project. You've got no lights, no wipers, and no gauges. It's a "daylight-only" cruiser right now. If you're looking for a car to drive home 500 miles tonight, this isn't it. If you're looking for a solid-running foundation that you can finish electrically and mechanically while you enjoy the "rough and tumble" look, you found it.

WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR?
This is for the guy who wants an Edsel he doesn't have to be afraid to scratch. Its for the builder who wants to spend their budget on the "go" instead of the "show." Its a running, driving, loud, and proud piece of iron that needs a owner who isn't afraid of a little grease and some wiring diagrams.
