Classic Car Overview
The Impala is finished in two-tone Harbor Blue and Snowcrest White and exterior details include quad headlights, dual front air intakes, chrome bumpers, fender and door-mounted side mirrors, dual antennas, horizontal tail fins, teardrop taillights, and reverse indicators. The two-spoke steering wheel features a semicircular chrome horn ring, and it fronts a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, warning-light cluster, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The 283ci V8 engine was fully rebuilt and features a Rochester two-barrel carburetor. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a two-speed powerglide automatic transmission. It features power steering to provide modern integral steering that eliminated the leaky, unreliable slave cylinder system.
Blue-finished 14 steel wheels wear original-style hubcaps with 7.50-14 wide whitewall tires. Braking is provided by front power disc brakes with drilled rotors and rear power drum brakes.
