The Most Desirable Corvette Ever?

The 1967 Corvette is considered the most-loved Corvette ever produced. The combination of classic C2 styling, along with an incredible array of powertrain and comfort options, makes it one of the most desirable Corvettes ever. Not bad for a car that was never supposed to be made!

The ZR-1's production run from 1990-95 was one of the most exciting times for Corvette enthusiasts in recent memory. In the mid-1980s, rumors of a "King of the Hill" Corvette began to leak out of Detroit and into America's speed shops and dealerships.

Classic Car Overview

This is not a numbers matching car.  It is a major restoration of a damaged 59 and a second 59 donor car.  Significant additional parts were procured from Eckler's in Florida and Mary Jo Rohner's in Poway CA.  The car was built on a proven frame by a Corvette restorer of note here in Tucson.

The engine is a standard 283 cu. in. with a single four barrel carb.  When the engine was assembled it was built with a mild cam (ISK-201271), high flow oil pump, dual point ignition and roller rockers (Comp-1412-16).  The heads are very special being double hump or fuelie heads.  The transmission is a Muncie 4 speed.

The build process started with the bare frame.  The body was inverted and all panels and support structure were repaired if required.   Body parts (doors, hood, trunk, etc.) were repaired and added.  The body seams are uniform.  Fiberglass finish, undercoat, colorcoat, and clearcoat are excellent although the restoration was completed in 1994 so there are now some minor blemishes on some panels.  The car has always been stored covered in a garage.

The body color is Frost Blue with white coves.  The interior is matching blue and the carpet was recently replaced.

Although the car has not been shown frequently, it won awards often when it was shown.  Awards include 14 first place wins, 6 second place wins, 2 third place wins and 2 Best of Show awards.  Details available on request.  A favorite award was the car being selected as the December 2012 feature car in the Hemming's "Cars of the 50's calendar.

Because of the cars unique parentage, it is hard to find matching comparables but the asking price is believed to be quite fair.
