1959 Chevrolet Apache

Pickup trucks from the 50s and 60s have been hot for years now, thanks to their simple yet classic styling, wood-planked beds, no-frills interiors and vibrant colors. As most were used as work horses, not a lot of them survived in nice original condition. Seeing one that has is a rare treat indeed.



Here we have a gorgeous and mostly original 1959 Chevrolet Apache Fleetside half-ton pickup that still boasts its rock-solid original body panels and floors. Its clear to see this truck led a pampered life, unlike most of its peers.



The Apache has plenty of eye candy with those arrow-straight and pristine body panels, single high-quality respray in its beautiful and correct two-tone blue and white paint scheme, and the factory Custom trim with its chrome bumpers and chrome-enhanced side spears. The underside is so clean it earns our Lasagna Truck status, meaning its so incredibly clean wed eat our Sunday pasta off of it.



The refinished mahogany wood planks in the bed add to the old-school charm, while the color-matched wheels with their chrome caps/trim rings and wide whitewall radial tires further the trucks considerable curbside appeal.



Inside the cab the Apache is just as impressive. The original cloth upholstery and the painted surfaces look fantastic and so-late-50s with their fancy pattern. You can play your Bobby Darin tunes through the modern audio system which features Bluetooth capability.



Under the big hood theres an upgrade to big block power in the form of a 348 V8. That 348 features a 4-barrel carburetor as well as a late 1950s-style air cleaner to preserve the period-correct look. A 4-speed manual gearbox sends the power to the pavement while the dual exhaust provides the right soundtrack.



Out on the road this truck drives and handles with a smooth confidence, thanks to power steering, power brakes, a rebuilt front suspension and front/rear sway bars. The Apache runs strong, with performance the original powertrain could only dream of.
