This 1959 Auto Union 1000 Sp is one of approximately 5,000 coupes produced between 1958 and 1965, and it is powered by a two-stroke 981cc inline-three paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Finished in red with a black roof over a two-tone interior, it features 15 wheels with chrome covers in addition to a Solex carburetor, a hood scoop, quarter-panel fins, bullet-style mirrors, a woodgrain dashboard, fold-down front seats, and an ivory-color steering wheel. This particular car was awarded Best of Show Audi at the 2019 Legends of the Autobahn in Monterey; it sold on BaT in October 2021 and was listed again in May 2023. Work in preparation for the sale included securing the seat rails, replacing fuel lines and filters, rebuilding the carburetor, adjusting the brakes, and additional work listed below. This 1000 Sp coupe is now offered on dealer consignment in Oregon by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, with literature and a Washington State title.
