Classic Car Overview

Circa 1958, Ford launches its all new Fairlane with an unprecedented road trip around the globe testing the durability and comfort on some roads that have changed little since the Roman empire. Fords new frame, referred at the time as the Inner Ford , had a new wide-base design that lowered the center the Gravity for greater stability. New Ball-Joint front suspension took the bounce out of the bumps, and Even-Keel rear suspension combined softer action with level-ride control. Also new for 1958 was the Interceptor V8 engine, new Cruise-O-Matic Transmission an Magic-Circle steering. At the time, there was nothing newer in the world than the Ford Fairlane. The Fairlane was offered in many configurations including: 2-door Hard top, 4 Door Sedan, Station Wagon and the ultra rare and desirable Skyliner.

Gr Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1958 Ford Fairlane Skyliner Retractable 2 Door Hard top. The Skyliner Retractable is the rarest model built in the Ford Line.
