Classic Car Overview
Hello. My name is Jim.
Ive enjoyed being a collector for nearly 50 years now; and was a dealer for over 40 years of that time.
This original and unrestored 1958 truck is one of the best original-type survivors I have seen or had opportunity to own. Its been in my personal collection since I purchased it, over 30 years ago from Classic Chevy International (no longer in business). Since purchase, its spent most of its life parked between my green 59 pickup, and whatever else has come through the door. Until now, ititseen out of circulation to the buying public.
Im a Roy Rogers fan; and I love it so-much, I had nicknamed the truck Trigger after Roys palomino. Its ironic, I later found out Roy actually recorded a 58 Chevrolet truck promotional video commercial.
Its an amazing original truck; from an era in time when trucks got destroyed, serving as street-legal tractors. In contrast, Trigger has only 28,000 original miles; and I havent added 50 miles in the last 32 years.
Its not plain-Jane either. After some research amongst other long time collectors, former dealership staff, and retired manufacturer executives, Ive come to recognize it as what they call a Parts and Accessories Demonstrator.
I cant replace the truck. Even with my network, I dont know of another truly like it. Im not sure it can be fully replicated, given any number of dollars or years of skilled labor. However, Im to a point in my seventies where Id like to find Trigger a new stable.
I can provide photos of the truck from every angle. I have documentation spanning back into the mid-70s. I personally know one of the owners previous to me. I can provide videos attesting to the Triggers full functionality and roadworthiness. It is of coarse equipped with all of its original mechanical components (cast numbers, cast dates, chalk marks, etc.) Anything Ive maintained has been a rebuild of the original, not a replacement (water pump, fuel pump).
If youre a classic car and truck enthusiast and collector, like I am, Id be glad to tell you more. Just give me a call. I dont toil much with text and instant messaging.
My family and I love classic cars; and trucks especially. I might consider a partial trade. Im mostly a GM guy, but I love the Mopar & FoMoCo varieties too. Im not above a driver or complete project either.
Thanks sincerely for your time and consideration.
