Classic Car Overview

This 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood Seventy-Five Limousine is a unique, luxurious, and well-optioned chauffeured car thats ready to cruise to the next car show or to be the highlight of the local parade! For generations, owning a Cadillac was both a status symbol and a milestone achievement for many Americans you knew you made it when you owned a Cadillac! Arguably the only milestone exceeding Cadillac ownership was being chauffeured around in your Cadillac and Cadillac has a storied history dating back to the early 20th Century producing chauffeured cars. The 1958 Cadillacs were completely redesigned from nose to tail. Up front, dual pairs of headlights were added in 58 due to a shift in regulations in automobile design and allowed from improved illumination. Additionally, an all-new bejeweled grille sat above the redesigned from bumper, complete with new rubber-tipped Dagmar bumper guards that were more practical and more refined. The side profile and rear end were also treated to a major refresh highlighted by a more refined modern tailfin design that was unmistakably Cadillac as well as new-look rear taillights, with the drivers side assembly concealing the hidden fuel filler. The 1958 Cadillacs came loaded with features as standard equipment, such as automatic transmissions, power steering, power brakes, and even clocks. The Series 75 Limousine was the second most expensive Cadillac you could purchase in 1958, with an original MSRP starting at $8,675. In total, only 730 Seventy-Five Series Limos were produced in 58 which makes this example quite the rare piece. This particular Cadillac comes to us from a Western collector who stewarded the car for over 30 years. Powering this 58 Cadillac 75 Limo is a 365 cubic inch V8 topped by a single 4 barrel carburetor that together were said to have produced a whopping 310 horsepower when new. The powerful Cadillac overhead valve V8 is mated to a Hydra-Matic Automatic transmission that makes this an easy car for anybody to drive. A throaty exhaust sound emanates from the dual exhaust setup that exits out the rear of this massive 50s limousine. Being that Cadillac was the most luxurious American marque of the era, and its Fleetwood 75 Series was the most luxurious Cadillac series in 1958, these cars came absolutely loaded with options! Squeezing in and out of a tight parking space at the local car show or ice cream parlor is a total breeze thanks to factory power steering that greatly assists the driver when turning the steering wheel and as Cadillac touted back in 1958, the steering wheel can be turned in a complete circle with one-finger effort. Further assisting with parking efforts is a drivers side chrome outside mirror so that you can easily see down the side of this Cadillac. With power brakes, bringing this behemoth to a complete stop is also much easier as well. Riding on a set of wide whitewall radial tires, each paired with a full Cadillac wheel disc, this 1958 Cadillac 75 has an upscale look and even better ride. Additionally, a rear mounted Continental Kit houses a spare tire should you need it and adds a little extra pizzaz to this already upscale car. This 58 Cadillac Limo also comes equipped with the optional Fog Light package incorporated into the lower portion of the front bumper, improving visibility in low light driving. The exterior of this 58 Cadillac Limo is correctly finished black paint and capped off with accessory flag holders that together emphasize the limousine look and feel of this wonderful Cadillac. The interior of this 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood Seventy-Five Limousine is marvelous! Up front, the drivers seat is upholstered in black leather that provided improved durability when the vehicle was used commercially. The rear passenger compartment is especially luxurious and its also correctly upholstered with Light Gray Bedford Cord seat cushions and seat backs accented with Gray Broadcloth bolsters and trim. With such an incredible amount of leg room in the rear passenger cabin, a pair of stowable Light Gray Bedford Cord trimmed seats can also be utilized to increase the seating capacity. Moreover, the rear cabin is absolutely loaded with options and features! For example, rear footrests add to the comfort of the rear-seated passengers and are quite a novelty. Furthermore, passengers seated in the rear section of this limo are treated with a center folding armrest, a pair of side parcel compartments, personal power rear window and divider window controls, and a personal cigar lighter and ash receiver. The rear passengers also are treated with a very special option that being, rear radio controls allowing them to control the volume of the sound system. Similarly, passengers sitting on the stowable seats each get their own ash receiver mounted on either side of the clock. Although this Cadillac limo was intended to be a chauffeur-driven vehicle, the drivers compartment is also particularly luxurious and nicely optioned! Both front windows are powered, opening and closing easily with the flick of a switch. Adjusting the drivers seat is also an easy operation since its a powered seat. Youll also be able to easily listen to all of your tunes while cruising with the factory AM radio remaining in place, and supplemented by an accessory FM unit and accessory 8-track player mounted neatly under the dash. Another interesting upgrade is the under-dash CB radio with telephone-style handset receiver. Instrumentation includes a 120 MPH speedometer, temperature and fuel gauges, along with several indicator lights. Last, but not least, perhaps the most impressive option this 1958 Cadillac comes equipped with is factory air conditioning so that you can stay cool even on the hottest summer days! Whether youre buying your very first classic car, looking for a cool addition to your limo fleet, this 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood Seventy-Five Limousine would make an excellent choice.
