1957 Porsche 356A T1 Speedster

VIN 82759
Engine No. 63487 - Matching
Transmission No. 12052 - Matching
Porsche Kardex
Completed November 20, 1956

A Southern California 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster, finished in the original color combination of Red with a Black interior. Imported by Hoffman Motors in New York, the 356s factory options include sealed-beam headlights and U.S. overrider bumpers. Retaining its matching engine and transmission per Porsche Kardex, this is a highly original and well-preserved example of one of Porsches most iconic models.

The paintwork presents well, with some patina, and the panel fit and gaps are excellent. The deck lids match, with 759 stampings. The interior features an original VDM steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, and Speedster seats. The front trunk has a date-coded 10/56 fuel tank and fuel sending unit. KPZ 4.5 x 15 painted wheels (Date-coded 8/56) are mounted to 165 HR15 tires. The undercarriage is solid and rust-free, and has been fully detailed, including the suspension components.

The matching 1600cc flat-four engine offers substantial power, and the 4-speed manual transmission (Type 644) shifts smoothly through all the gears. Four-wheel drum brakes were rebuilt, including wheel cylinders, brake lines, and the master cylinder. European Collectibles performed a full service, rebuilt the braking system, restored the VDO instrumentation, upholstered the Speedster seats, and installed a new black canvas soft top and boot cover. Offered with an original key, toolkit, jack, spare wheel, a copy of the Porsche Production Specifications, and Porsche Kardex. A compelling opportunity to acquire a wonderful running and driving 1957 Speedster with matching numbers in beautiful condition.
