VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.

Classic Car Overview

My father bought this car in Germany while he was stationed there during the Korean War. He purchased it new in 1957 and shipped it by boat to the United States. The VIN is 105010N7505950. The motor was rebuilt in 1999 by Henry Ulpts, its in excellent running condition and has been driven under 1000 miles since . The exterior paint was done in 2005 by Maaco to match the original Maple Yellow. The complete interior was done in 2005 by Rico's Custom Upholstery, including the seats, headliner, carpet and still looks brand new. The door panels and dashboard are original. The drivers side mirror is cracked. The gauges all work except for the temp which was replaced by an under dash aftermarket unit. The heater blows hot and the wipers wipe. Most of the lights work and I am sure the ones that don't probably just need bulbs. The tires are Continental's and have plenty of tread on them. I have receipts for most of the work done as well as the original owners manual and parts catalog. I have all documentation from Germany including the original sales receipt and shipping info. My dads dream was to fully restore this car and show it at the Pebble Beach Concourse d'Elegance. He passed away in 2015 and never realized this dream and unfortunately I don't have the resources to make it happen. This car has been a priceless piece of history for me and its incredibly hard for me to let it go. Clean title in hand. Please contact me with any questions and concerns. Thank you.
