1957 Lincoln Premiere Car History It is not very often that you ever run across some example of 1950s Lincoln luxury car, but we have a very nice example with this 1957 Lincoln Premiere here at Adventure Classics today. It is bold, distinct, powerful, loaded, and was a premium luxury car when new. Its the kind of car that was admired in 1957 and has become a rare classic today. Engine & Drivetrain Only one motor was offered across the line, the 368 cubic inch V8 engine rated at around 300 horsepower and was mated to an automatic transmission. When you open the hood on this car and you will notice that everything appears stock and well maintained. A nice feature here is that Lincoln moved to a 12-volt electrical system the previous year, and so the car starts easily and there is plenty of power to run all those accessories. The engine in this car is smooth and still retains the stock original gold air cleaner assembly and gold scripted valve covers. It is still painted the Lincoln green on the engine block, heads, and intake, with a four-barrel carburetor, power steering, power brakes, and rides on classic-style whitewalls and a set of steel wheels with factory chrome hubcaps for that period correct look. Interior The interior looks as new in its deep blue hue on the split bench front seat and matching rear seat, with the matching door panels, dash, and two-tone blue/white steering wheel. The blue carpeting is positively plush for the proper premium feeling and it has matching blue seat belts, and standard features like a power front seat and power windows, great factory instrument panel and dashboard covered by the dash pad with all the factory gauges, radio, all of which looks and feels like pure nostalgia. Exterior The blue exterior paint job with the contrasting white painted top on this Lincoln is what will first attract you. Not only is the blue and white a terrific combo but it gleams in the direct sunlight. The chrome shines brightly to on the front and rear bumpers, side brightwork, stacked headlights, wraparound windshield, and looks great with the overall straightness of the sheet metal.
