Iconic E Code Thunderbird- This 1957 Thunderbird is a rare E code (2x4 intake) example of the iconic Ford roadster. The Thunderbird was introduced as a sporty competitor to the Corvette, and many say that the Tbird saved the Vette from extinction. The 1957 Thunderbird, in its third model year, set a sales record with over 21,000 cars sold. It presented a new front fascia, new rear taillight/fin design and features from the previous year including a 12-volt electrical system, deep-dish safety steering wheel and removable hardtop. Distinguished Family History- This partially restored Tbird has been in the same family for over 50 years. It looks very distinguished in a careful respray of the White finish (1980) that is very good condition. Classic accents include rear fender skirts and BFGoodrich wide-white radial tires mounted on color-matched 14 steel wheels w/factory Sunburst wheel covers. A white porthole hardtop is in very good condition (no soft top). All Thunderbird Inside- The interior has been reupholstered in white vinyl and includes the factory restyled 57 instrument cluster with round gauges. All 57 Thunderbirds are equipped with an adjustable telescopic steering column, but most seem to be somewhat hesitant to co-operate as they age. There is also an AM radio, but it is currently inoperable. Dual Carb Y Block- Horsepower is provided by an E code Thunderbird 312ci engine fitted with dual Holley 4000 T-pot 4-barrel carbs, each said to flow 330cfm for a total of 660cfm. This engine was factory rated at 270hp and is backed by Fords time-honored 2-speed Ford-O-Matic transmission. The owner states that the Y-block has not required a rebuild and it sounds strong. One of the features of the car was the Engine Dress-up Kit with chrome accents. The TBird chassis is equipped with power steering and power drum brakes. There are very, very few of these classic E code Thunderbirds around for the serious Blue Oval loyalist and this car deserves your scrutiny. ALL VEHICLES SOLD AS IS .
