1957 Chevrolet Nomad

Chevrolet designers conceived the Nomad station wagon as an upscale, suburban utility vehicle. Introduced in 1955, the Nomad was admired for its looks, but was expensive compared to other Chevrolets. While the name lived on for several years in lower-priced Chevrolet station wagons, the last Nomad built in original configuration was constructed in 1957. Considered too rare and valuable to use for utilitarian purposes today, Nomads during the mid-1950s were regularly put into service towing trailers and hauling heavy loads. The 1957 models received no special trim. All interior and exterior trim are interchangeable with other Belair models. Even though there were fewer 1957 Nomads produced, and it had no special trim, it is arguably the most popular with collectors today.

In 1957 they built 6534 of them. With those figures, thats the reason you can still pick up one today. Many are in the hands of collectors at this time.
