1957 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible For Sale This 1957 Chevrolet Corvette convertible wears the two-tone body treatment that defines the C1s most recognizable early years, a red exterior with the signature cove panel finished in white. Nineteen fifty-seven was a landmark year for the Corvette, the first to offer Rochester fuel injection alongside the standard carbureted V8. This example runs the carbureted setup, paired with an automatic transmission, the more common and easier-to-live-with configuration that still delivers proper V8 character without the higher-maintenance demands of the fuel-injected cars. Power goes back through a rear end geared at 3.55, a ratio that keeps the car responsive off the line while staying comfortable at cruising speed. Braking is handled by drum brakes at all four corners, correct and original to a Corvette of this era. The car comes with both of its tops, a red hardtop and a white soft top, giving the next owner flexibility for weather and setup. Inside, the red vinyl seats are in excellent shape, and the black carpet is excellent as well. A couple of photographs in the consignment file point to a restoration completed in the 1980s, and the car presents today as a driver in the truest sense. This isnt a trailer queen fresh off a rotisserie; its a Corvette that has spent decades since that restoration actually being used the way these cars were built to be used. The interiors excellent condition speaks for itself, and the overall result is a C1 Corvette thats ready to be driven and enjoyed rather than trailered and put on a stand.
