Windy City Warriors

From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.

Savoy Faire is Everywhere

The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.

Classic Car Overview

Started with a real VC code Bel Air V-8 car. The body was taken off the frame and put on a rotisserie, then transformed into this beautiful custom 57. It is a show car from top to bottom, but really it was built to drive with a fuel injected motor, a/c, power steering, power 4 wheel disc brakes and much more. EXTERIOR: Stunning color. Nice dark blue with bright blue metal flake that really sparkles in the sun. Even in our shop it twinkles as I walk around it. It is a 99 Honda blue with flake in the clear coat finish. The chrome is show chrome, really looks like a mirror. Its all new- bumpers, headlight bezels, hood bar, hood rockets, mirrors, handles etc. The stainless trim has been replaced or polished. New grill, lenses, emblems. The silver inserts on the 1/4s are very good. New windshield and all new smoked side glass. New weatherstrips, window gaskets, fuzzy seals. Jambs are painted nice. The trunk lock was filled in, it uses a Cadillac latch that opens with remote lever inside car. Has strobe lights in the front and back that really grab attention. INTERIOR: Very comfortable grey cloth upholstery, door panels done to match. Replaced headliner and carpet. Dash is painted to match the exterior. Has full set of blue Dakota Digital gauges including tachometer and clock. The retro stereo has tweeters in the door panels, amplifier and CD changer in the trunk. Has a polished Flaming River tilt column with a custom steering wheel. The factory levers are adapted to the new air conditioning system. Headliner has been redone, windlace is replaced, new handles and cranks. Door windows are power. There are power door locks under the armrests and on the remote keychain. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is full of modern updates. Has a Corvette LT-1 fuel injected 350 motor with custom air intake, long tube coated headers and serpentine belt and pulley system. Newer air conditioning system, 605 power steering system with stainless braided lines and power brakes. Has dual electric fans and polished overflow bottle. Custom made chrome radiator cover looks nice. Plenty of new parts- nuts and bolts, hood hinges, alternator etc. There is a battery shut off switch and remote jumper leads. Upgraded to a modern under dash electric wiper system. The engine bay is painted gloss blue. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Painted body color, it is all metal. Has rubber mat, new weatherstrip. UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame and flipped on its side on a rotisserie. Complete new floor pans were installed and the underbody was painted body color. Has California boxed frame that was powder coated. The front suspension was completely rebuilt, has 2 inch drop spindles. New shocks front and back. New coil springs in front, new leafs in back. All new body bushings, fuel and brake lines. Bottom of motor is clean, trans is a Corvette 700R-4 overdrive automatic. 10 bolt Nova rear in back. Upgraded to disc brakes at all four corners, stainless hoses upfront. Custom 3 inch exhaust (2 1/2 over the axle) with crossover over pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. I bought this 57 Chevy from the man that built it in South Carolina. He owned it since 2003 and didnt get to use it as much as he should have. He said he was afraid of bicycles and baby buggys! His hard work is now available for your benefit. It is a really sharp looking car with all the comforts of a cruiser!
