Classic Car Overview

The Black Widow. Car manufacturers were not allowed to promote racing. So, behind the scenes Chevrolet supported a company called SEDCO and they built no more than 18 race ready 1957 Chevys. They started with the lightest, no frills 150 utility sedan and fitted them with high performance drivelines. They were astonishingly fast setting records and taking multiple wins. This one has had a body off frame restoration recreating the Black Widow. They went as far as duplicating the 6 lug wheels and quad rear shocks. EXTERIOR: Pristine body, probably better than when it left the factory. Laser straight, precise gaps, zero rust or damage. Painted the Black Widow colors of Onyx Black and India Ivory. It is polished literally like a mirror. You can read the newspaper in its reflection. New weatherstrips and seals. Every piece of chrome and stainless trim was restored or replaced. The cross flags and fuel injection emblems on the quarters gives a clue what this car is about. They even duplicated the 6 lug wheels instead of the standard 5 lug. They are wrapped in reproduction Firestone tires. INTERIOR: No frills, not even a back seat! The rear windows are stationary. There are no armrests or visors. Its a radio, clock, cigarette lighter and heater delete. There isnt even a dome light. There is a rubber mat on the floor instead of carpet. It is restored like new including the upholstery, door panels and headliner. The metal trim was repainted silver. The seat was rebuilt-springs and cushions. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is highly detailed to show quality. The 283 is built to 283 hp specs including a correct factory fuel injection set up. It is running really good. Starts right up, you can hear the cam at an idle, its responsive. Its correct from the plug wires to the fuel filter. Every component looks like new. Reproduction hoses and clamps. All the surfaces are painted really nice. Underside of the hood is painted like a mirror. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid, the jamb and entire compartment is clean metal painted gloss white. It has reproduction mat, seat divider and weatherstrip. It even has a 6 lug spare with a 5th reproduction Firestone tire. Restored jack assembly. UNDERSIDE: Wow, its detailed. The chassis was apart, prepped and painted a smooth gloss black. Every component was rebuilt, replaced, restored, detailed. Like the original it has front and rear swaybars. They also duplicated 2 shocks at each rear wheel. The brake system was completely rebuilt, e-brake is hooked up. All new fuel system. The dual exhaust has Flowmasters to make sure this muscle car sounds like one. Looking up at the motor it is spotless Chevy Orange. It has lower plug wire shielding, canister type oil filter and a restored starter. The 3-speed trans is dated 1957. It has a posi rear. The floors, braces and rockers are all clean metal painted factory red oxide primer. This 1957 represents a very cool part of the muscle car story. The restoration would cost far more than the asking price. Its one of the best restored 57s you will find anywhere! I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the cars condition in detail. These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership. 815 385 3644 9-5 central Sales@volocars.com Answered ASAP Fuel injection Posi rear Sway bars Quad rear shocks 6 lug wheels Reproduction tires
