Classic Car Overview
1957 Cadillac Fleetwood 65 limited edition.
Everybody thinks 1950s Cadillacs are way cool. Even if you know nothing about cars, you know a 1950s Cadillac when you see it. This lovely 1957 Series 62 four door hardtop is one of those gorgeous designs that make people nostalgic, and as it turns out, theyre also fantastic cars to drive. The color is black, and the car was repainted over 25 years ago, using the original color as a guide. Bodywork is excellent, and since there are no replacement panels for these cars, you know its 100% OEM steel. The rear quarter panels are perhaps the largest ever stamped, and theyre laser straight with no visible signs of patching, this has always been a rust-free car. Inside, theres just no question that this is a product of the rock-and-roll decade. The white brocade fabric is a wonderful contrast to the black paint.
The seats and door panels and carpets are newer, and the front and back seat is beautifully preserved. The dash is original as well, and the dazzling chrome instrument panel will most definitely remind you of a Wurlitzer juke box. Shockingly, thats an AM/FM radio in the dash, and it is original, with a speaker down below.
Cadillacs 365 cubic inch V8 with a rebuilt Holly four-barrel carburetor makes this land cruiser impressively peppy around town. The owner before me, claimed he had the engine, transmission and rearend rebuilt. I know it cruises effortlessly at 85 MPH with a great V8 rumble from the dual exhaust. The engine bay is all original, from the correct gold air cleaner to the Cadillac Blue paint on the engine itself. This car has had careful maintenance, including recent belts and hoses, and youll note that this 57 includes power steering and power brakes, so its easy to handle. The original wheels wear stock hubcaps and a set of wide whitewall radials. It is a pristine classic in every way. p shows you why.
This is a rare Fleetwood four-door hardtop, was built with special features, extended electric trunk with backup lights in the trunk lid, an upscale white leather interior and stainless steel lower rear fenders and fender skirts.
This Fleetwood is showing 38500 miles, which I believe may be original. I believe, I am the third owner. I have owned it 18 years. I bought it from my very close friend who also owned it about the same number of years. He once told me he bought it from the original owner.
