1957 Cadillac Eldorado

Very rare and well cared for 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham 4 Door HT. Build # 127 out of only 400 made. A lot of people do not know this car was built. Has matching 365 V8 with factory dual quads, original 4 Speed automatic, power steering, power brakes, stainless dual exhaust. this one starts easy and drives great. The original dark gray metallic paint has a deep clear coat and was repaint once. The interior is all original down to the carpet which has faded. Has nice headliner and dash pad. The front seat is showing color change in the leather lines but for original its amazing. Chrome is all nice except rear bumper on right side has a couple small spots missing chrome. I am sure the miles are right on car by condition but the 59 k miles on od cant be proven. And the car never had a rust hole. 1st car to have factory Mag rims that are made of aluminum and chromed over with stainless center caps. These were sold by engine number

for Vin in 1956. So, the Vin number is on the engine front right below head and on an orange tag on left front door jamb, see photos. Basically this is an all factory car with 1 repaint.



History of these cars: The Brougham meant to assert Cadillac at the top of the car-worlds pecking order while delivering a good, hard slap to Lincoln and its premium-priced Continental Mk II. In an era when a Rolls-Royce cost $10,000, the Eldorado Brougham started at $13,074 . There were choices of paint color and interior fabric, for example but all options that came on them were the same for each Brougham.

This Cadillac was the epitome of American luxury. Just 400 examples were built in 1957. Typically reserved for only movie stars and the wealthy elite, this Cadillac was originally priced at $13,074. Compare that to a regular Cadillac sedan in 57 priced at $4,781 and you can see this limited production car was far more expensive

This Brougham stands out from the pack with its brushed stainless steel roof, center opening/suicide doors, beautiful taillights in the unique rear fins, no center roof pillars, and a lower stance. This car is loaded with luxury options including air conditioning, power windows, power drivers seat with memory, electric door locks, a trunk lid that is electrically raised and lowered, auto dimming headlights, polarized sun visors, and a glove box with fold out shelf with mirror and tissue dispenser, to name a few. Interestingly, this was the worlds first production car to use air suspension, giving this classic a smooth ride. 1st car with turn signal indicators on dash that lit up by fiber optics and 1st year for transistor radio.

The Eldorado Brougham was a full 3 1/2 inches lower than a Cadillac Series 62. The Broughams body was also 2 1/2 inches narrower. Doors latched onto a stubby central pillar barely a foot high, helping to maximize what rear legroom was available.



Not Working - The things you need to drive legal on the road work but the following dont : AC, power seat, air suspension was removed so it has shocks and springs, transistor am radio comes on and power antenna works but speaker may be bad, clock and gauges dont work. It does have an oil pressure gauge in engine bay.



Note : Selling car AS IS with No Warranty. Have clean Indiana Title. I posted 129 photos. The last 2 is some tiny chips in clear and paint on top of trunk and the other is at front of hood. Then you should be able to notice baseball dent in left fender in a few photos.
