Classic Car Overview

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION at RM Sothebys Paris event, 28 January 2026.
160,000 - 210,000 EUR

  • An early example of the Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk III; among the first 100 produced
  • One of just 83 factory left-hand-drive cars; delivered new to California, United Sates
  • Retains its matching-numbers straight-six engine
  • Originally finished in Moonbeam Grey with a Green Connolly leather interior; now presents in British Racing Green over Black

One of only 83 factory left-hand-drive cars produced, chassis number AM300/3/1394 offered here is among the first 100 examples of an Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk III built. The accompanying build sheet notes a delivery date of 1 January 1958, heading to Mrs M S Collier of San Francisco, California. The car was finished with Moonbeam Grey paintwork over a Green Connolly leather interior, while the twin-SU carburettor-fed straight-six breathed through an optional twin exhaust system. Additional extras included wing mirrors, a Virages Brouillard driving lamp, and a continental spares kit.

Although the cars early history thereafter is not known, while under the care of a member of the Aston Martin Owners Club France, the matching-numbers engine was submitted to Sodemo Moteurs of Magny-Cours for restoration. Invoices (available to view on file) for the work carried out between January and July 2013 total 35,270.

Purchased by the vendor in February 2019, the Aston Martin presents with a charming patina in the appealing colour combination of British Racing Green over black hide.
