1956 Mercury Montclair
Convertible Car for sale in Tomball, Texas 77375
From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.
The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.

Classic Car Overview
1956 Mercury Montclair $24,000
This is a rare opportunity to own this very rare car at this price point.
Face it, not everyone can’t afford a number 1 $140,000 Montclair I can’t.
This is a once in a life time chance to own a 56 Merc. The body is ready for final block and choose your colors and there is so many. The body had only two patch panels that’s behind the rear wheels and that is it.
All other panels rockers floors trunk bottom of doors bottom of front fenders are all original to the car and there is not a spot rusted through or not even heavy pitting of the body.
No the deck lid gap is perfect so is the doors and hood. In the pictures the deck lid looks out of line it’s not the latch in.
The x member frame is perfect with all the brakes drums steering rear end power brake booster all is intact dash wiring harness steering column wheel radio knows all there. I also have a second complete dash steering column wheel horn ring and so on. All heater parts duck work wipers door cylinder locks.
Also I purchased and removed my self a original power steering components. That includes the crank shaft balancer for Power steering pulley. Mercury did not drill and tap all balancers for power steering pulleys, I have it.
Out of the same car I purchased all the power windows to convert this car. I removed both complete doors and left them all together including glass and rear window glass.
The 312 is fresh I removed the valve cover so you can see the transmission fresh also. Everything is still on the engine trans. Radiator and rare fan shroud. The engine fall off parts removed clean paint the 312 gold with the green valve covers air cleaner. Have generator starter rebuild detail all brackets replate linkage.
I will offer to put engine and trans back in car hot wire it and start the engine. Who Evers purchase it will have to be placed back in the car anyway. Both front and rear bumpers tail lights and soon for easier transport.
I spent a week inventorying all the stainless trim it’s easier to tell you what is missing than listing all the parts. The two front fender Mercury scrips are missing. In regards to rusty trim screws inter panel screws saved as much clips as I could.
Wind shield was cracked and chipped.
This is a skirt car car have skirt car.
I know 56 very well would be happy to spend the time to inventory the trim parts and show buyer all’s there. I have a complete rear end and front frame clip all with brakes and 3 spare 56 rims and jack
I would consider a trade for a original 56 hardtop with skirts # 2 or 3 car no junk please.
