The Dodge Li'l Red Express set a standard on how to make a great performance truck. All Dodge Li'l Red Express trucks came from the factory painted in Bright Canyon Red in 1978 and Medium Canyon Red in 1979. Every Li'l Red Express was a regular cab Adventurer with a stepside bed.

Classic Car Overview

For consignment, this fabulously restored rare catch 1956 example of the Ford F100 pickup with a big back rear window at a time when a mere 5,000 of these were produced. Some fresh drivetrain parts including a 302ci Ford mill, all steel, no rust, maple bedded, upgraded brakes and other mechanicals and paint as deep as the diving well at the county pool, (do they do that anymore?). Lawyers guns and money have put the kibosh on this dangerous to snowflakes activities . Call your lawyer so I can have my freedom of speech taken away! Exterior A close inspection of this truck, and one has to look very hard to find any faults on this catch. As noted, Raven, (Nevermore!), Black paint bathes super straight steel panels which are very much minding their gaps. We are still in the exterior bulbous fender age connected by the running board era, although as with the rear fender, they are starting to melt into the actual body. A small body matching running board, with a nifty shiny cloisonne badged foot plate, will guide you into the snazzy interior. The remaining badging is all there and very nice. The front grille is completely chromed and looks like it was just driven off of the showroom floor. So does the simple bumper framing the bottom of the grille. On the large curved downward front hood, complete with front mounted hinges for easy wrenching access to the mill and its trimmings and bolt ons. All chrome window surrounds are beautiful as are exterior mirrors, and handles. A red pinstripe encircles the cab at the belt line, and that rare large window option is on back. Through this glass we can see the newly minted maple and chrome mounted ribbed bed which has had nothing in it but stocking covered feet, and has pristine sides to this bed. On back a FORD embossed badge is in the center of the black gate and below on the roll pan is a shiny chromed simple bumper with dual exhaust tips peeking out of the bottom. From the rear view you get the full effect of that panoramic wrap around rear glass. Red steel wheels with Ford moon caps and shiny trim rings are wrapped in black wall rubber on all 4 corners. Interior Flip open any of the 2 doors red vinyl door panels with embossed stitched squares on the lowers and smooth red uppers. Shiny cranks and actuators are on. Painted black sills and lowers are all totally rust and wear free. The original design of the single curved metal dash instrument cluster houses a semicircular speedo and a chromed ribbed panel just below has other rectangular gauges. These are set in an all black field of full metal jacket which extends across the front. The original ribbed black 3 spoke big steering wheel with a black bakelite rim, fronts this shiny and pristine original dash. Clean rubber is on the floors and floating above is the full bench with nice red smooth inserts that cover the seat and go halfway up the back. Here black smooth bolsters take over and cover the uppers and three sides as well as the bottoms of the large comfy bench. Just behind is that panoramic rear glass which bathes the interior with light and enables the driver unlimited rear vision. A Lokar shifter lever reaches for the driver and has a silver knob topper. The handbrake lever is here too. Drivetrain Flipping the clamshell hood forward we see a Ford 302ci V8engine that with the cast gray parts, shiny bolt ons and pristine headers looks all the part of the machine age. It has a chromed open air cleaner cover, polished valve covers and a nicely showing Edelbrock intake topped by an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor. Electronic ignition is now on to help keep the fire lit. On the back is a C4 3-speed automatic transmission and way back is a Ford 9 inch rear. All is cool with the new aluminum radiator. Nice gray steel headers sea snake downward to the belly of this beast and melt into a Turbo muffler dual exhaust. Undercarriage A Ford F-100 frame is under this beautiful showroom stamped steel floor-boarded structure and shows not even a hint of rust. New springs, shocks, bushings, bearings, kingpins, driveshaft, and fuel lines. Leaf springs provide the ride and for the stopping, power disc brakes in front and power drums in back. Clean as a whistle. Drive-Ability My partner in crime and I could not wait to dive into this beauty, and it did not disappoint. Stylin would best describe the feeling when inside. She fired right up, and it was off to the test track. Here she showed us her stuff with snappy acceleration, good handling, and awesome stopping power. Inside, a fairly quiet ride, but outside a great exhaust sound resonates through the valley of our test track. As we slipped off the track and headed back to the mall, a satisfied look was seen on both our faces as we were hooked! We noted the horn and wipers are currently not operating. Currently the ONLY example of this rear panoramic glass pickup in our vast inventory. A fully documented restoration and souped up with a hot V8 engine, new brakes, new suspension parts, mounts, bushings, and exhaust. Paint as deep as the Mariana Trench, here at Classic Auto Mall. This is a testament as to exactly how few of these examples survive. Hurry in as this will not take long to be caught, and for the price as it is, you certainly will not be left underwater. I know Im hooked, just get me on the boat! F10D6R27736 F10-F100 Conventional D-223ci I6 6-1956 R-San Jose, CA Assy Plant 27736-Sequential Unit Number
