1956 Chevrolet 150 Wagon Custom When it comes to cars there might not be anything more classic than the tri-five Chevrolet. If you are compiling a top 10 list of popular classic cars and leave them off you are guaranteed to get some pushback from the community because no list is complete with out them. Nobody back in the day realized that between 1955 and 1957, Chevrolet would produce what became one of the most recognizable and iconic classics of all time. There were various body styles available and although the Wagon might have been viewed as the family car back then, that has changed greatly in the classic car hobby. Now the station wagon has become one of the most desirable to own. This very clean 1956 150 Wagon takes those awesome bodylines and steps it up a notch with tasteful modifications that make it extremely road worthy. The car has undergone a full frame off restoration and professional build to transform it into something you cant just walk past without taking a second look. Starting with the exterior the car is very classy, not revealing right away the customizations hidden underneath. It has a mostly stock appearance and is painted in a beautiful Surf Green color with a White roof. This is then accented by the standard 150 trim and beautiful chrome bumpers. Nothing says 50s like tail fins which are shown off in the rear and feature those iconic taillights, which on the drivers side open to reveal the gas cap. These had a lot of glass with multiple windows all of which are tinted and in good condition. The chrome rims look great on the car and the 3 year old wide whites are perfect on a vehicle of this vintage. Pop the hood and this 56 starts to really show off the high quality build it received. It now features a 6.0 LS2 motor with a FiTech fuel injection system that provides more power than this Wagon had ever seen before. It has been dressed up with Billet Specialties custom valve covers and the engine compartment is very clean throughout. It has an aftermarket aluminum radiator with electric fan to keep it always running cool even in the Texas heat. The motor is paired with a 4L80E automatic transmission that shifts smoothly and a Currie 9in rear end. That is not all though because this car received a full Ridetech suspension system, Wilwood disc brakes, power steering and a Vintage AC! Moving to the interior the car returns to its more subtle stock appearance but there are still some nice modifications to be found. The upholstery is all a nice Green/Turquoise to match the exterior and is in excellent condition. From the carpet to the headliner everything is in very good shape. You will also note White accents throughout to tie in the roof color. The dash is all cleanly painted and has the stock layout but custom gauges have been added into the original position.
