Desirable and attractive 1956 Austin Healey 100 BN2 Roadster finished in its believed original colors of Colorado red with a black interior, black top, and tonneau cover. Improved version of the earlier BN-1 offering now a proper 4-speed gearbox and bigger brakes, but still with its signature and racing derived fold-down windshield.
The car has been purchased from a collection in Colorado and underwent a total, panels off, nut and bolt, ground-up restoration about 20 years ago. The restoration was meticulously and carefully done to factory standards, including the chassis, bare metal bodywork, chrome, paintwork, body rubber kit, suspensions, fuel system, engine, gearbox, steering, wiring, upholstery, windshield glass, etc. The car is correctly finished and still presents beautifully. The panel gaps and alignment are currently being slightly adjusted to improve overall fit and finish, which is already quite good for these early cars. The car has a solid and straight undercarriage and has been sparingly enjoyed since the restoration.
The paintwork is ravishing with excellent high gloss clear coat and gleaming chrome/brightwork all around. The interior is beautifully trimmed and retains correct original features. The engine bay is show condition with correct details and decals.
The car comes with a thick dossier of receipts documenting the restoration work. Overall, a totally restored car to an excellent standard and a great opportunity to acquire one of these important early Healeys in the current market. Very good value considering rising restoration costs.
