Classic Car Overview
The details:
4th generation one-family owner
Oregon farm truck for 20 years, driven weekly; moved to SoCal & stored outdoors, covered, driven weekly for 20 years; then stored indoors at SoCal car storage garage for 15 years, driven occasionally. Presently, stored securely outdoors and not driven. To put back on the road, fuel tank needs flushing of stale fuel, needs carb rebuild, needs cooling system flushing, fresh brake fluid, new lubricants & filter, and new tires (good tread, but out of date). Upholstery and floor mats need replacing. Cab and bed rubber frame bushings need replacement (metal-to-metal squeaks).
Original numbers-matching engine and 2-WD power train all presently working, subject to minor servicing and replacements noted here. Needs a correct heater by-pass fitting on engine intake manifold to drive anywhere.
Truck was in a low speed accident decades ago, repaired, but frame is crooked so truck is drivable but crabs, and thus requires auto frame shop correction. Damaged original hood replaced with fresh original 1956 version, which fits. Truck exterior repainted once when accident repair done.
Ford vintage Sea Sprite Green exterior paint. Rear bumper is welded aftermarket farmers bumper for pulling trailer on the farm. Stock replacement bumper can be purchased and installed. All body panels (hood, top, doors, front & rear fenders, tailgate) have flawless original contours. Tailgate has rust and pitting needs restoration. All body hardware, handles, sun visors, badging, wiper arms & blades, tailgate chains & latches and one factory ignition key present. Aftermarket locking fuel tank cap with key. Aftermarket water temp and oil pressure gauges added under dash.
Heater -yes, no radio, no air conditioning, no power brakes or power steering. Truck has drum brakes all around. Truck converted to 12 volt electrical system. Aftermarket seat belts. Good glass all around.
. 5 factory original wheels included. Has 1980s aftermarket chrome wheels (rusted) and radial tires on for local driving.
. Engine uses Redline Lead Substitute with each tank fill-up (1950s & early 60s engines were designed for only leaded gasoline. Failure to add leading agent to fuel can cause cylinder valve failures).
Seller is 100% owner and has clear title & CA DMV pink slip. Vehicle is CA registered as not in use on roads. Would qualify for historic plates and fee.
