From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.
The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.

Stainless around all the windows are good original. Stainless on the sides has been replaced. New mirrors and correct antenna base. There is some pitting on the door handles. In back the tail lights, bumper, bumper guards and emblem were replaced. The glass is good original. The door jambs are painted nice, new weather strips. Staggered size chrome Ridler wheels with performance tires. 17s in front, 18s in back. INTERIOR: It has some very deluxe and comfortable front bucket seats. They are power all different directions and even have power lumbar. Everything has been reupholstered to match- seats, door panels, headliner, visors and the rear speaker tray. New welting around the door opening. New carpet and matching floor mats with sewn edges. Has a custom made center console, it makes a nice armrest and cup holder. Has Dakota Digital gauges, custom heat and air conditioning control panel and a real nice leather grip steering wheel on a tilt column. Theres a retro stereo in the dash with 6x9 speakers in the back. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very desirable 5.3 all aluminum, fuel injected LS motor. They are very desirable because of their efficient, reliable horsepower. This one has a custom airbrushed cover on top that looks real sharp. All new heat and air conditioning system. It also features a modern power steering system with a remote polished reservoir and stainless steel braided hoses. It has power brakes with the chrome booster and a dual reservoir master. It has a big aluminum radiator up front to keep things running cool and has a polished overflow bottle with an electric fan. It has an electric wiper motor and serpentine belt system. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has been boxed and upholstered to match the inside. The floor is carpeted with sewn edges. There is more storage behind the front panel. Has new weatherstrip. UNDERSIDE: Overall the bottom of the car is very clean looking. It has been prepped and painted black. The floors and braces look clean. The front end components arent new but they all look good and proper. Bottom of the motor is all aluminum and looks spotless, has a high torque starter. Upgraded with the 4L60E- electronic shift overdrive automatic. It has external finned aluminum transmission cooler. In back it has a new fuel tank, straps and sending unit. It has traction bars and air shocks. Updated brake system with drilled and slotted discs at all four wheels. You will look good in this car but the biggest pleasure will be driving it! Fires up with the touch of the key, you wont want to get out of these seats, the air will keep you cool and the 4 discs will stop you on a dime.
