Windy City Warriors

From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.

Savoy Faire is Everywhere

The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.

Classic Car Overview

1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air 2 Door Hard Top. DGC8772 VIN. VC55OO28772. I sold a car way back in 1993. This is a stunning 55 Chevy. Jim owned Mastercraft Plating here in Seattle. As you can imagine the car was impeccable. Mastercraft Plating was the high end chrome plating company in Seattle. So this 55 Chevy is just like his plating... beautiful. Jims daughter contacted me about buying the 55 Chevy back. This is one of those cars you would be happy buying back, but I had to go see it first. Now this is the kind of barn fine you want to find. It was on a farm but was not in a barn, it was in an out building. It looked good, but the first thing I look for is mice. Im happy to report none were found. This car had been sitting for 10 plus years. We did not try to start it. We pulled it up onto our rollback and took it to Joe, at Old School Garage. I ordered a brand-new gas tank and told Joe to order four new wheel cylinders. As Joe worked on it he discovered it needed a new master cylinder. He took his time getting it ready to run. After it was running and driving, he discovered the heater core was dripping so he ordered a new heater core. It is now ready to run and drive and it sure sounds good. Someone is going to own one beautiful car. I forgot to tell you, the last owner only put 578 miles on this Chevy. You will have to look at the photos, this car looks as good is the day I sold it 25 years ago. In the trunk was our original info sheet from 1993 and the workup sheet showing a lot of info. This is a stock 55 Chevrolet Bel Air two door hard top. 265 V 8 engine with a 2 barrel carburetor. The engine has about 30,000 miles on the rebuild. Powerglide automatic transmission. The color and interior are correct. The car was restored in 1986. This is a 94,975 actual miles car.
