1955 Chevrolet 3100
The Dodge Li'l Red Express set a standard on how to make a great performance truck. All Dodge Li'l Red Express trucks came from the factory painted in Bright Canyon Red in 1978 and Medium Canyon Red in 1979. Every Li'l Red Express was a regular cab Adventurer with a stepside bed.
Classic vintage Chevrolet pickup trucks are receiving growing interest among car enthusiasts. The most collectible muscle cars are numbers-matching survivors; the most sought-after vintage trucks are full custom builds.
Classic Car Overview
GENERAL INFORMATION; NEW CRATE MOTOR from Summit Racing August 2018. Truck was professionally built by Jim Bush of Southerm Calif and completed in early 2016. Jim put 3,000 miles on it himself and I purchased it in the summer of 2016 and shipped up here to the north Georgia mountains. To use as a daily driver. Truck now has 13,000 miles on it since the complete frame off restoration. Never smoked in and always garaged. But driven a few time a week, every week, to town and around the mountains. I also have a "build book" supplied by Jim with pictures of every stage of the build. Invoices, tech sheets, all manuals, and parts information for easy parts replacement. Look at the detail of my exterior, interior, dash board, under hood, and under entire truck and compare to those $60k street rods. You will be surprised. I used the autotrader recommended transport company out of California when I bought it there and it was reasonable and worked perfectly without any damage, they also offer inspection services too...IMPORTANT:.Also remember states like Georgia don't charge sales tax when you buy from another individual older cars..Older cars are exempt because of age. But if you buy from a dealer you will pay 6 or 7% sales tax because it is required at the dealer level. This saves you another $2,500 on the transaction, in the state of Georgia anyway. I found this out when I bought from an individual in California and went to register here in Georgia. No sales tax required the tax office told me. Saved $2500. Check the state you live in?
CHASSIS; 1979 Camaro Z-28 front clip with HD sway bar. Completely rebuilt and powder coated before installation. Than the frame was boxed. With front disk brakes. NEW Camaro steering box installed Sept 2018. NEW Corvette master cylinder installed JULY 2017. NEW electric radiator fan installed July 2018. Camaro rear banjo, leaf springs, and positraction rear end. 18gal gas tank installed under bed in the rear of the truck. Perfectly wired, a work of art. Power steering and power brakes. Have pictures of underneath of truck. Looks as good as the rest of the truck other than rock chips from driving it. Clean no dirt. Have cleaned regularly. BEWARE OF ADS THAT DO NOT SHOW UNDERNEATH OF CAR ESPECIALLY AT A DEALERSHIP THAT HAS LIFTS AND MECHANICS. MOST OF THOSE YOU SEE WILL BE CARS ON "CONSIGNMENT" NOT OWNED BY THEM. CONSIGNMENT CARS ARE HEAVILY MARKET UP DO TO FEES TOO SELL.....
POWER TRAIN; BRAND NEW $6,000 crate motor installed this month (Sept 2018) at 11,000 miles specifically to get truck sold. Go to my FB listed below for audio and video of motor running as well as exhaust sound. The original 350 was old and not long for the world. Would not try and sell the truck with it. Purchased from Summit Racing. Manufactured by Blue Print Engines of Nebrask. You can google them for all the specs. Blue Print supplies all the racing companies selling engines; Speedway, Summit, Jegs, etc. It is a 350/373 small block Chevrolet.I chose low compression heads (9.1 to 1) so I could use regular gas. High performance distributor and wiring, Holley intake, Holley four barrel carb with two fuel feeds. Has a hydraulic roller cam which makes the car idle real good and exhaust sounds great because of it. Summit heat coated exhaust headers. Dyno sheet supplied with engine shows 401hp at 5,900rpm. Has a Summit Racing B&M torque converter and Summit Racing GM 700R4 four speed automatic transmission. Purchased new at the start of the build. Has a transmission cooler also. Also as I mentioned previously a GM positraction rear end. In 4th gear overdrive, at 70mph motor runs at 2500rpm, at 80mph runs at 2,900rpm.. With every increase of ten miles per hour rpm increases by 400. When you manually shift into third gear the rpm increases 400. I changed the break in oil at 11,500 and changed again at 12,000. Will need oil change at 15,000.
INTERIOR; Very soft Vinyl seats, headliner, and door panels. Feel and look like leather but clean easy because of being vinyl. Cream color. Amazing interior work as you can see. Vintage air and heat that work perfectly in any weather conditions. Again looks like a factory installation using vents in dashboard. Camaro tilt steering column with custom wood trimmed wheel. Auto Meter gauges, as well as a Stewart Warner Tach, that ALL work perfectly. All interior and exterior lighting work perfectly as well. Kenwood stereo and speakers under both seats. All glass good and windows and electric wipers work perfectly too.
BODY; all original metal. NO dents or scratches but one minor paint chip on front of hood. All doors, hood fenders, and tailgate line up extremely well. Doors and hood close and open easily as well as the windows roll up easy too. 17 inch American Racing Polished Wheels. Tires have 12,000 miles on them.
MISC INFO; Also have custom truck cover. Compare this truck to ALL trucks for sale, in every detail, on Autotrader or any other classic sites and I am confident you will not see a truck of this quality for less than $60,000. Compare my pictures and details exterior, interior, dash, wiring, engine, engine compartment, and underside of truck and my truck becomes a CHEAP deal by comparison. No money spared on this truck and installed $6000 crate engine this month just to sell it. You cannot build for this price. This is a fully completed restoration, nothing you need to do to it but drive it. You will not be disappointed if you come and inspect. If you become a potential buyer, will have to have monies electronically transferred into my bank account before truck or ownership papers leave here. That is how I did it with Jim when I bought it and that is the deal. NO PayPal scams or offers please. Common to have scammers send me emails wanting to buy the truck immediately at full ask through PayPal and they will handle shipping. Be very aware of internet scams when buying and selling. PayPal does not guarantee the seller good funds on vehicle sales only on packages shipped by FEDEX, UPS, USPS. Auto trader offers inspection services and transport services. I use them to buy truck from Jim Bush in Calif. I didn't go there and see it. Autotrader services worked perfectly.. Call me at 615-579-4420 for any info you may need. Check me out on my FB page so you know who I am. bobmcdevitt.14 Morganton, ga. Thanks. Don't want to waste your time or mine....SINCE THIS HOLIDAY TIME OF THE YEAR AND A TOUGH WINTER WILL KEEP PICE AT $38,900.
