1954 Ford Crestline
Convertible Car for sale in Morgantown, Pennsylvania 19543
Morgantown, PA 19543
From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.
The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.
Classic Car Overview
For sale is a rare classic 1954 Ford Sunliner convertible that is somewhat of a retro-rod restoration that has been babied. The custom paint scheme turns heads, as does the tone of the dual exhausts. Purchased from dry Redlands, California in 2014 from the late owner's family. It has all power options and has been frame-off restored in the late 1980's. The late owner modified the car and also made it show-quality. The frame off restoration included re-wiring, installing a 4-barrel Holly carburetor, dual Flowmaster (?) exhaust, His family explained that he only took it to local shows. I have several trophies for this show-winner. The Ford has been garaged here and never goes out in the rain or other bad weather. There is no rust and the interior, the glass, and the body are in show condition. As seen, the Ford has chrome wire wheels with the Ford logo center caps. The wire wheels are like new. I added Coker radial wide-whitewalls, and drove it very little except to run it 13 miles up the interstate and return and a few shows. The exceptions are a non-working odometer (the speedometer works fine) and a on again off again rear drivers side power window. The car is in great condition. An updated FM/CD/AM radio has been installed with dual antennas on the rear fenders that go up when you select a radio band. The camel color leather interior is offset by thick green carpeting throughout including the trunk and a cover on the spare tire. A stock brass colored jack is found in the trunk. A white tonneau cover can be used when the top is down. The rear window is clear and the top operates well and is in like new condition. Steering is tight and the suspension is as well. Offers will be considered.
