Classic Car Overview

This 1953 Studebaker Commander Regal Starliner hardtop is powered by a replacement V8 paired with a replacement three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in coral with a white roof over white vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a Carter carburetor, body-color wheels, bright wheel covers, whitewall tires, a spotlight, fog lights, front lap belts, and a push-button AM radio. The car is finished in a shade of coral with a white top. Fog lights are found beneath the front bumper, a reverse light is affixed below the rear bumper, and a spotlight is attached to the driver-side A-pillar. Other features include dual side mirrors, fender vents, and chrome bumpers and trim. Aftermarket windshield wipers have been adapted. A crack in the windshield is pictured in the gallery below. Body-color 15 steel wheels with bright covers are mounted with American Classic whitewall tires. Later-specification drum brakes are utilized at all four corners. White vinyl upholstery trims the bench seats plus the door and side panels. Other appointments include front lap belts, a rear center armrest, a push-button AM radio, a dome light, carpeted floor coverings, and Studebaker-branded floor mats. A fire extinguisher is mounted beneath the dashboard. he three-spoke steering wheel has a chrome horn ring and frames a speedometer that ranges up to 180 as well as gauges monitoring amperage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. An Equus coolant-temperature gauge is located near the left edge of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 60k, and true mileage is unknown. The column-shifted automatic transmission has custom lettering overlaid atop the factory shift pattern. The engine is a replacement V8 sourced from a 1960s Studebaker, and it is topped by a Carter four-barrel carburetor and an oil-bath air cleaner. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement three-speed automatic transmission.
